I found my druthers {what I'm reading}
I found my druthers! The week before I sent off my manuscript, I got full of myself and requested some books from my local library. I'm embarrassed to say this isn't all of them, but believe, me I'm in no hurry for the others to come in.
I started with Cleaning House by Kay Wills Wyma because that's the first one that came in. The subtitle says it all: A Mom's 12-month Experiment to Rid Her Home of Youth Entitlement. I feel like I could've written the book, except I like her approach way better than my own. Her goals of what she wanted to teach her kids over the 12 months is a little different than mine, but I'm resolved to sit down and make a list of my own. For now, we started with her first task of having the kids have their rooms clean and beds made every morning.
What are you reading?
Enjoying my snow day here in VA, my stack of books certainly rivals yours. My books are middle school books (as I teach sixth graders). Starting with an indulgent werewolf YA book (not for sixth graders) called Linger. Then rereading one of my ALL TIME favorite authors YA novel Viola in Reel Life by Adriana Trigiani. (We are skyping with her soon.) From there...who knows. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteMichelle - I'm reading Adriana's "The Shoemaker's Wife". I just started last night! I'll check out the one you're reading when I'm done my stack.
