I ordered dog-themed cookie cutters and used them to make sugar cookies as the give away.
They came in handy for the place cards at the table and to cut up the watermelon. Scooby Do bone-shaped graham crackers and puppy chow Chex mix rounded out the menu.
She loved her cake! I cheated and used pre-made icing for the cake. It was softer than decorator's icing so a little messy in the details, but it works for the fur of a dog.
We played Doggie Doggie Where's Your Bone, Pin the nose on the Doggie, Trainer Says (Simon Says), and Follow the Leader.
If it hadn't been THUNDER STORMING! I would've like to have bought helium balloons to line the walk and cut out paw prints to line the path and decorate the front door.

Just to keep it real, in addition to the torrential downpours the plumber - who was fixing my broken toilet - left a half hour before Ainsley's friends came. AND the road in front of my house was being torn up as the first guests arrived in preparation for paving. Talk about poor planning!! The gel on the cookies wasn't dry. I should've started them Saturday instead of Sunday. All in all though, the kids had a good time.
