It's the little things.

Two things:
1) Last week during the new family orientation Natalie found out she has the option of buying lunch at school. She asked me about it on the car ride home. She started by asking if she could do chores to earn money. I asked her what she wanted money for, that I would buy whatever she needed. That's when she told me she wanted to buy lunch. We agreed to look into her buying her lunch once a week. It costs $1.85. I told her I would give her the money to buy her lunch, that she doesn't have to earn it. She insisted on the chores. I said, "Um....okay." I'm waiting to see how long it lasts. She is responsible for taking out the trash and unloading the dishwasher. She wants more chores. I told her we could add more if she liked doing the first two on a regular basis.

2) I've been burning the candle at both ends and pushing myself to try and maintain a household while unpacking it. Thursday I crashed just before dinner. While the beets and turnips were roasting I told the girls I needed to take a small nap and that they needed to clean up their crafts from the dinner table. When I came down 20 minutes later this is what I found.

They put flowers on everyone's napkins and some on the table. They were so proud of themselves and so was I.

  3. Oh and it means that you must spend a lot of time thinking of others since they go so quickly to that as well. =)

  4. Precious girls you have! You are raising amazing children! Burning the candles at both ends is paying off, but mama still needs to take care of herself!!
